This means it can be done whether you’re at the office, home, and even while sitting at the park listening and watching the birds. Some people get confused about mindfulness and meditation. The reality is mindfulness is a type of meditation.

Additionally, mindfulness meditation can even be use to curb food cravings, and this has been proven by studies. One study1 published in the journal of Eating Disorder found that meditation mindfulness is helpful in terms of control for a person with binge eating disorder.

There are also studies2, 3 that found mindfulness meditation to be helpful for people with IBS(irritable bowel syndrome).

Stress is one of today’s major issues on health. Experts now agree that stress plays a huge role for many illnesses. It suppresses the immune system especially if your gut health is deteriorated.

A study4 published in the JAMA Internal Medicine (A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis) suggests that the practice of mindfulness meditation can help ease psychological stresses including depression, anxiety, and pain.

Today, there are many mindfulness and meditation centers including unviversities like UMASS. This approach for achieving good health and wellness is safe, effective and proven. The key is to regularly practice mindfulness. It’s a skill that needs to be learned overtime. The more often you do it, the better you become good at using it when needed.

There are many tutorials for mindfulness meditation in YouTube. You can also buy a mindfulness guide like “The Garden of NOW” available on Amazon. One of the people you should also be checking is Jon Kabat-Zinn. He is a practitioner and author of many mindfulness books available at Amazon.com. Jon Kabat-Zinn is also a professor of medicine emeritus, and the creator of Stress Reduction Clinic and Center for Mindfulness in Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He is worth checking both his books and talks most of of which are available on YouTube. Just search his name.
