Reversing Alzheimer’s Disease With Coconut Oil – A Doctor’s Experience On Treating Her Husband

The medical community and probably those who suffer from Alzheimer’s disease were excited about the news that came out in the middle of 2015, a new study may have discovered a cure for Alzheimer’s disease. Hopefully, researchers can follow that up with good news because there are millions of people suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.

The good news, on the other hand, somewhat there is already a proven way to reverse Alzheimer’s disease. Although, there have been no extensive studies done, yet, it seems that using coconut oil to reverse the condition showed anecdotal proof about its effectiveness. Dr. May Newport, author of the book Alzheimer’s Disease: What If There Was a Cure?: The Story of Ketones successfully reversed her husband’s Alzheimer’s disease.

Dr. Mary Newport also runs a website where she published the detailed documentation about her experience on treating her husband with coconut oil. She also has many papers published including testimonials from other people who experienced positive results using her method. She had also given a TED Talks back in 2013, which you can watch below at your convenience.

This is really promising, right? In fact, a few were already interested and conducted research about ketones. One found an alternative for coconut oil that is more potent, but unfortunately, expensive to reproduce. Another sad news, although it has been found potent and effective, there would be not much profit from it. Hence, funding for further research and mass manufacturing don’t attract much interest from big companies. It’s unfortunate that one safe and effective that is already proven might not be able to help the masses who are suffering from a cognitive function.

Hopefully, 2016 is a good start for healthy fat diet as one research reported by MedicalXpress found that a high fat diet can improve memory function. Although the study at the University of Texas, Dallas is still done on animals, the results are promising.

High-fat diet specifically consuming healthy fats like butter from grass-fed cows, coconut oil, fats from fruits like avocados, and a wide variety of nuts are helpful when it comes to weight loss. The diet that consumes a high amount of healthy fats is called a Ketogenic diet. Of course, this type of dieting and treatment may not be for all, but it seems at present it has helped many people already.

In fact, the new dietary guidelines recommend consuming fats from healthy sources. And, perhaps taking supplementation like fish oil may also be helpful. Of course, there might be a link between a healthy gut and better cognition. Another promising thing is that coffee has now been found through research is helpful for people with Parkinson’s disease.
