Meditation is an ancient practice of stilling the mind and body. When you’re meditating, the goal is to achieve a profound state of deep peace. Although the mind is calm and silent, it is alert and aware.

Thoughtless Awareness

When practicing meditation, your ultimate goal is to achieve thoughtless awareness. In this state, the excessive stress-inducing activity of the mind(others call it the monkey mind) is neutralized and become more balanced while maintaining full alertness.

This thoughtless awareness allows the mind to achieve peace and free from agitation. This is a state in which no judgment but simply experience and process every feeling and experiences. In other words, it is like watching the thoughts without attaching emotions to whatever comes.

Practicing Authentic Meditation

The aim of practicing authentic meditation is to make the most of it. This is a powerful and effective meditation practice. An authentic meditation simply focusing on the present moment rather than engage in the past or future.

You can’t change the past and you can’t directly control the future. Instead, focus on the present and enjoy it without judgment. The great thing about this practice is you will attract easily what you really want in life that awaits you in the future.

The reason for it, theoretically, the relaxation effects of meditation releases catecholamines1, which is a neurotransmitter that resolves various central nervous system functions.

Additionally, during meditation as you achieve thoughtlessness awareness, the release of stress hormones decreases while the activity of the parasympathetic nervous system is increased. This is a part of the body’s nervous system that slows down the heartbeat, decreased pupil size, dilates blood vessels, increase digestive juices and relaxes the muscles in the GI tract.

The parasympathetic nervous system is the rest and digest, which allows growth and healing as opposed to the fight or flight response.

Steps In Practicing Power Meditation

Regularly practicing meditation properly can improve a person’s quality of life and result in a better person. Power meditation can bring about calmness in a person’s mind resulting to a higher concentration, mental clarity, and perception.

Additionally, power meditation practice can also result in improving communication skills as the throat chakra opens and balances, enhances one’s skills, talent and creativity. It also develops inner strength and healing ability in both mind and body resulting in rejuvenation and relaxation.

All these power meditation benefits can significantly help people from all walks of life. It helps in maintaining a sense of happiness and wellness for both mind and body.

Practical Steps in Achieving Power Meditation

  1. Select a peaceful and private place where no one disturbs you. And, wear comfortable clothing.

  2. Always practice meditation in your private place while barefoot. So, take off whatever footwear you’re wearing.

  3. Decide the duration of your meditation. It could be 10, 15, or 30 minutes or even beyond it.

  4. Prior to sitting and meditating, do simple stretches just to keep your body easy to get into relaxation as you meditate.

  5. Now, sit in a comfortable position. If you can sit on the floor with either full or half-lotus, that’s great. Otherwise, simply site on a chair comfortably without leaning.

  6. Close your eyes and induce relaxation to the entire body.

  7. Breathy deeply and evenly while concentrating on particular point, perhaps your belly that expands and retracts as you breathe.

  8. Notice the entire body as it gets into total relaxation while enjoying the stillness and finishing your meditation with a prayer to the divine.

  9. Final Thoughts

    During your initial practice of power meditation, you may not be able to sustain it for long. However, keep practicing and you’ll be able to sustain it long enough for your regular practice.

    The good thing about power meditation practice is it helps you develop self-discipline and being able to materialize things you want in life with ease. In other words, you will become a good manifestor. Regardless of what you truly want in life whether it be vibrant health or financial freedom, or even both, you’ll be able to achieve it.
