Most likely you’ve already heard the phrase clean eating. But what is it? And what are some guidelines to follow in order to get into clean eating?

Clean eating is eating foods as close to their original form. In other words, eating whole foods, and preferably organic. There are those who say organic does not matter, but in reality, based on real-life experience, organic matters. GMO foods should be avoided as much as possible.

What Constitute Whole Foods?

Eating fresh organic whole foods is the ideal way of eating. But what are whole foods? Whole foods are foods consumed on their original or close to their original foods.

The best examples of whole foods are fruits and vegetables. There are many cultures around the world that can be considered healthy eating. One of these is the Mediterranean diet.

Eating these foods are beneficial to the human microbiome particularly those living in the gut. In fact, some fermented foods and beverages like kimchi, sauerkraut and kombucha are considered good foods and should be part of a healthy eating regimen.
